Outpatient Medication Clinic Psychiatrists Positions (Oakland, Union City, Pleasanton, Martinez & Brentwood)

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Completion of approved residency in General Psychiatry
- Board Eligible or Certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Licensed to practice medicine in California
- Approved as member of the Medical Group

| GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
|
The Outpatient Medication Clinic Psychiatrist
shall be responsible for the pharmacological management and clinic treatment
of all patients on his/her designated caseload with respect to the clinical
and administration of the policies and procedures applicable to the medication
clinic as approved by the Medical Group and Alameda County Behavioral Health
Services.

The Medical Director and Associate
Medical Director of Medication Clinic.
|
| SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: |
|
The Outpatient Medication Clinic Psychiatrist shall:
- Conduct psychopharmacology evaluations/assessments on all new patients
and routine monthly treatment of all assigned patients on caseload.
- Write legible progress notes after each visit on all assigned patients
on caseload, contact made via telephone with pharmacists, case managers,
etc. following the required format by Alameda County Behavioral Health
Services which will allow reimbursement of services rendered by psychiatrist.
- Work with interdisciplinary team to coordinate treatment for all
patients on caseload. Including participation in clinical team meetings
to report observations and coordinate the development of recommendations
when requested.
- Ensure that the following mandated documentation happens for all
patients on caseload:
. Physicians' formulated Treatment Plan
. Patient signed Consent Form for psychotropic medications
. Discharge orders with summaries on any patients that you discharge
. Physician's legible signature and dates on all documentation
that you write in medical record
- Consistent communication and coordination with required service providers
and family members involved in patients care for all patients on caseload.
- Complete Court Order paperwork on all children represented by the
court system before prescribing any medications.
- Participate in all management meetings of Medical Group and in required
meetings of Alameda County Behavioral Health Services medical staff.
- Participate in quality assurance and utilization review activities
as established for or with respect to the medication clinic.
- Communicate all critical issues to the Medical Director, Associate
Medical Director or management company related to administrative or
clinical practices.
- Interact with Medication Clinic personnel as required to fulfill
the foregoing responsibilities.
