Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
(Union City, Martinez, Antioch, and Brentwood)
 
FULL-TIME / PART-TIME EMPLOYEE  
QUALIFICATIONS:  
 
  1. Masters Degree minimum
  2. Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Practitioner current valid license in California, and current CPR card.
  3. At least two (2) years experience working with clients with serious and persistent mental illness.
  4. In-patient setting, as well as experience in an outpatient medical setting.
  5. Experience in providing superior physician coordination of client services.
  6. Excellent group facilitation skills and experience.
  7. Strong knowledge base and understanding of psychiatric diagnoses, terminology and medical record charting.
  8. Utilization Review and Management Skills.
  9. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  10. Ability to work well with minimal supervision
  11. Ability to work well with physicians, clinicians and other nurses.
  12. Ability to handle multiple demands and/or crisis situations in a calm, professional manner.
  13. Excellent interpersonal and client engagement skills and experience.
  14. Knowledge and understanding of managing record charting.
  15. Ability to handle multiple demands and/or crisis situations in a calm professional manner.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  
 
    1. Conduct assessments on all new children and adult admissions. Notes physician orders and follows through as needed.
    2. Conducts medication check visits on returning clients as required.
    3. Coordinates all laboratory procedures, including Infection Control responsibilities.
    4. Assists with coordinating clients' scheduled appointments/sessions with physicians
    5. Contacts others involved in the care of clients regarding medication/medical treatment issues, as necessary. [i.e. case manager, family members, crisis staff, pediatricians, etc.
    6. Conducts client medication education groups and provides individual client education when necessary.
    7. Daily documentation and implementation of treatment plans for all clients on caseload
    8. Participate in Treatment Team Meetings and Clinical Trainings
    9. Provide all clients with care, dignity and respect. Continuously strive to deliver superior clinical and client-centered treatment.
    10. Perform other related duties as requested.
    RESPONSIBLE TO: Medical Director
    CLASSIFICATION: Non Exempt
    HOURLY WAGE: $45 - $55
