Compliance/Data Clerk

 

STATUS:                                                 FULL TIME

PAY SCALE: -$12-$15/hr  

QUALIFICATIONS:  

·         At least 1 year of experience in compliance, audit, risk or a similar control function

·         At least 1 year experience in verifiable recent full-time paid experience as a Data Entry Clerk or equivalent in a general office or inventory capacity.

·         The successful candidate must be highly motivated and able to handle multiple priorities in a consistently changing environment

·         Ability to work independently and consistently to achieve Compliance/Data Clerk  Performance Measure goals

·         Strong verbal, written communication and people skills

·         Ability to conduct research and draw appropriate conclusions

·         Experience dealing with compliance related matters

·         Highly motivated self-started

·         Demonstrated initiative and good judgment

·         Ability to effectively train others  

·         Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills

·         Comfortable with dealing with all levels of management

·         Highly organized and excellent time management skills

·         Proficiency in the use of EXCEL and WORD

·         Additional compliance project work will be assigned as needed

·         The operation of data entry and/or Insyst System and other software programs equivalent to those currently in use by the District; personal computers and current software for spreadsheets at the intermediate level of proficiency; and modern office procedures and practices

·         key numerical data accurately at the rate of 12,000 net keystrokes per hour           

GENERAL RESPONSBILITIES: Under close supervision, conducts compliance checks of the medical records (reconciliation of the charges vs. documentation) and enters patient data on BHRs Scheduler and/or onto the Insyst System daily. And performs related clerical duties as assigned. The Compliance/Data Clerk will contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of Medication Clinic Reconciliation and Alert Tracking by suggesting enhancements that will further streamline the process.  He/she will be responsible for training new Compliance/Data Clerk users on the Alert Tracking process and system and periodically completing various reporting assignments such as Quarterly Alert reporting to senior management, etc.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES: may include, but are not limited to the following:  

1.    Daily Reconciliation - check each chart daily for all services rendered and ensure that there is a billing sheet and that it matches the documentation in the medical record.

2.    Post and Update Patient Information - enters the following data into the Insyst System on a daily basis and/or when required -  CSI updates, treatment plans, registration & opening episodes, patient demographic changes i.e. change of address, telephone #s, etc.

3.    Support Utilization Reviewers - follow-up with billing department for- missing billing, questions, errors, etc.

4.    Required to meet and/or exceed set goals for Compliance/Data personnel and daily productivity standards. 

5.    Submission of timely weekly and monthly Compliance/Data Clerk required reports.  

6.    Operates alphabetic, numeric, and special character data entry computers, software and keyboards in order to record or verify data with a high level of speed and accuracy.

7.    Maintains accurate computer and paper records required by the department of assignment.

8.       Performs related clerical duties, as required.

9.    Additional responsibilities include providing back-up support to UR as need.  

The Compliance/Data Clerk will have the ability to: Understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions; maintain organized and accurate records, files, and/or other materials; communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work using principles of good customer service. Ensure that all medical records are reconciled daily and ensure that the information matches what is being billed. Ability to quickly identify whenever any service does not have documentation to support the charge. And be able to flag and pull out charges immediately so that it does not get submitted to the billing department. Also, must have the ability to effectively address deficiency with MDs and/or clinicians in a timely manner in order to ensure that all charges get processed daily. Compliance/Data Clerk will also input data into a computer, operate a variety of office machines, and perform other clerical or administrative duties.
