POSITION:

Staff Adult Psychiatrist - Partial Hospitalization Program (Detroit, MI)


 
   
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Completion of approved residency in General Psychiatry;
  2. Certified by or eligible for certification by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology;
  3. Licensed to practice medicine in Michigan; and
  4. Approved as member of New Center Community Mental Health Services Staff

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Staff Adult Psychiatrist shall be responsible for conducting Psychiatric Evaluation/Assessment and weekly Medication Evaluations and follow-up with all patients assigned to his/her caseload. The PHP Adult Psychiatrist shall maintain a reporting relationship with the Medical Director of the PHP and the Chief Medical Officer of New Center Community Mental Health Services for all medical issues.

Responsible to: Program Administrator for day-to-day administrative functions on-site.

   
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Staff Adult Psychiatrist shall

  1. Adhere to New Center medical staff and Fiscal Intermediary set policies and procedures following treating patients at the PHP level of care.
  2. Conduct Psychiatric Evaluations on all new patients and provide weekly monitoring and medication evaluations on all patients assigned to caseload;
  3. Participate in all meetings of Program staff and in meetings of New Center medical staff; department and committee meetings on a regular basis;
  4. Participate in treatment team meetings to report his or her observations and coordinate the development of recommendations to New Center with respect to policy or procedural changes and to interface with Medical Director;
  5. Participate in quality assurance and utilization review activities as established for or with respect to the Program;
  6. Participate in staff, professional and community education programs when required;
  7. Meet with the Program Administrator weekly concerning Program issues;
  8. Interact with PHP clinical team (Nurses and Clinicians) as necessary concerning any issue of case management;
  9. Adhere to all required documentation standards set out Fiscal Intermediary and ensure that writing is clear and legible in order to ensure reimbursement;
  10. Be available for consultation regarding patients on your caseload by staff during regular Program Hours; (9am - 5pm)
  11. Be available for emergency admissions to the partial hospitalizations program during your regular scheduled hours;
  12. Interact with New Center administrative personnel as required to fulfill the foregoing responsibilities.
